MRI is a useful tool in detecting structural, soft tissue, musculoskeletal, and vascular abnormalities and diseases, including:

Brain MRI

Indications:
Headaches

Lesions from a Variety of other Disorders
Congenital and Developmental Abnormalities

Spine & Neck

Indications:
Neck Pain
Enlarged Lymph Nodes
Palpable Masses
Back Pain
Numbness or Tingling in Extremities
History of Cancer
Injury
Loss of Bladder or Bowel Control

Useful for diagnosing:
Vascular Abnormalities
Degenerative, Intramedullary, and Extramedullary Disease,
Congenital Disease
Lumbosacral Plexus
Herniated or Bulging Discs

Breast MRI

Indications:
Presence or History of Silicone Breast Implants
Findings of Mammogram or Ultrasound

Useful for:
Evaluating Silicone Breast Implants or Residual Silicone from Removed Implants
Breast Cancer Detection

Cardiovascular:

Indications:
Congenital or Acquired Heart Disease
Chest Pain
Valvular Disease
History of Heart Attack or Possible Heart Attack

Useful for: Visualizing Heart Structure
Reducing Heart Motion through Cardiac Gating
Detecting Vessel Stenosis & Blockage
Detecting Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM)
Detecting Blood Vessel Dissection
Non-invasive Evaluation of Blood Vessels using MR Angiography (MRA)
Contrast-enhanced MRA uses an intravenous injection of Gd-DTPA for imaging blood vessels of the body, such as the aorta, neck arteries, organ and extremity arteries, and veins. Unlike conventional angiography, this technique does not require arterial injection or hospital admission.
